"And yet, after spending 20+ years trying to evolve the user interface into something better, what's the most powerful improvement Apple was able to make? They finally put a god damned shell back in." -jwz
I didn't think it was very good at all, I know it was only based on the book/radio series/etc but could they at least have made it somewhat similar? The jokes were badly exectued, the parts badly acted, and the script did not transmit well to screen at all! It was a waste of £4.50.
I loved Alan Rickman's Marvin though... thought he had that down to a tea (pardon the pun).
All in all I thought this move was rather dire, poor direction lead to something that wasn't entirely unlike HHGTTG. Lol, spot the reference!
That said! Trillian was SUPER HOT, and looked like a girl I dated briefly last summer called Laura. Damn it made me pine for her! Made me wish we had gotten intimate! Anyway enough of my randy rantings!
I'd say this film is a renter if you are a big fan of the original concept. This is because you are likely to be disappointed. If you are not a fan you might enjoy the film more, a lot of none-fans got a few laughs out of it from what I can tell.
LIZZIE - If you enjoyed this film you will love the book! Seriously it is so frickin' funny you wouldn't believe! You should put it high up onyour reading list!
