I am afraid Lawyers will need to get involved. I had to break down and get one for custody issues with my X.

Let us know if we can do anything.

Eventually, it arrives to the same thing, you'll have to DEAL WITH IT. Keep your frustrations and emotions out, go there and 'take care of business' as cold and level headed as you can.

        Good luck Dan!
so... you mean, with a baseball bat?

we both know where we stand legaly, so lawyers are not a huge issue - the only good thing, with her being an ex-junior lawyer, is she knows the only people that win in that case are the lawyers.

Lawyers here are not cheap, it would set each of us back about $6k to get lawyers involved.

            No joint assets, no children...

Just more of a problem with someone biting the bullet and accepting its over, time to move on.

Pity the appropriate word template couldnt be 'borrowed' to save the 6k.

Why don't you propose that you each get the other a nice $1k parting gift instead of giving money to lawyers? Nice way to make an amicable end and save $5k apiece as well.

No joint assets and no kids? Count your blessings. At six grand you'd be getting off cheap.

All kidding aside, I know from watching two brothers and a sister-in-law going through this that there's no such thing as an "amicable divorce." Hang tough, man.

when all she said she wanted for 12 months was a divorce and me to get out... its still money I would prefer not to spend.

sigh, just wait and see what the whole point behind the 'relationship councelor' is...

comeon... it ain't legal unless it's been dragged through the dirt a couple million times, then flogged...
