  • Revised web site

Bit of trumpet blowing! I've made some serious revisions of one my web sites at www.cypenv.org plus some brand new pages. This site is entitled Cyprus: the Environment but it also covers many subjects which are more or less related, mostly applicable to other countries, as well. It consists of a series of essays, written mainly for non-scientists (the most techie one is a general survey of sequestration).

Have a look, if you're interested!

Of course it is, but so is Eurasia. What's the problem?

        Well.

Theres no mentioning about the surrounding ocean.

i would have guessed that to play a BIG part in the sustainability issue.

PS: I AM a marine biologist, so Im obviously prejudiced.

Front Page springs to mind when I look at the page!
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

Well, the E. Med is poor in marine life and grossly overfished, anyway, to quasi-extinction of many species (not just from here, but from Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Libya etc.), past the level of any sustainability. There are almost no tides, so electricity generation from that is a no-no. Wave generation is also a no-no, as we have 7 or 8 months/year of anticyclonic conditions with little wind. What more is there to say?

And, yes, it is typically FP!
