What the story doesn't make clear that these Muppets ignored warning signs and walked down a ramp to watch the heavy sea. Also passers by were dodging waves on the sea front wall so perhaps that should have sparked something in the brain cell.

For some reason the local news blamed the sea. Sorry it was the stupid parents the Sea didn't aim for them it's just stupid people find ways of removing themselfs for gentic pool.

Notice how the boyfriend and his son survived? Let your girlfriend and her 13yo daughter risk their lives but crawl into a corner to preserve your own? A real man, that one.

Looks like he tried to help, too. Unless you know something other than what this article says, you're just cluelessly lashing out for no reason.

Yes he tried to save them. Pity he ignored all the safety signs and warnings first.

In Ostend, there were stairs that were called "the stairs of death". They just went from the promenade down into the Northsea (at high tide, at low tide they went onto the beach).
Naturally, there were a lot of warning signs (no swimming, ...), but people just ignored it. Now they have put up an artificial beach, but the sight before was hilarious: there were additional railings (to prevent people stumbling in), well over 6 signs (in all directions), ... AND still people went in...
