  • Why don't they?

Why don't they let the Pope die naturally in peace and with dignity instead of artificially keeping him going hooked to machines which, at the best, will keep him "alive" for another day or two - and with what quality of life??? All the doctors have done is to give themselves a dilemma as none of them will dare pull the plug.

Same goes for Prince Rainier, who has organic kidney, heart and lung failure.

This is inhuman, worthy of the Mengele-style experiments.

The page you were looking for cannot be found.

If it was good enough for Terri, it's good enough for Darth John Paul. Keep him going for another 15 years - "The God"(tm) is strong with that one!

I was wondering when someone would get around to mentioning the Pope. Its funny how that one didn't seem to warrant comment in the midst of all the other news.

Because it would wind up in the temp forum.

Last week I was over my parents and my mom had the news on and we spoke about the Shavo case and agreed it was her time to go. Then they had on about the Pope having problems and I said...theres someone else that needs to go Guess I'm going to hell now
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

John Paul: Don't be too proud of this prophylactic terror you've created. The ability to prevent sperm from reaching the egg pales in comparison to power of "The God(tm)".

Motti: Don't try to frighten us with your sorceror's ways, Lord John Paul. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up a cure for your incontinence, or given you clairvoyance enough to find your keys where you lost them due to alzheimer's!

They should have replaced him years ago and let him live out the rest of his life and then die peacefully.

Nope. They claim the pope is "infallible".

Which is why they won't let us hear what he's saying any more, considering that his brain is FRIED.

You claim YOU are infallible, but unfortunately you have no keepers to prevent you from similarly making a fool of yourself, for all to see. Amazing how like the Catholics you have become..

                        /Ontopic

I heard elsewhere that the pope had said previously that he wanted to be kept alive if he ever got into the sort of situation he's in now.
According to the Bible, suicide is a sin, so he can't order the machines turned off himself. And according to the Bible, murder is a sin too, so his assistants can't order the machines turned off as long as he's alive.

But if somebody has lost all brain functions and their body is just running on automatic or with assistance, are they still really alive?

No no. I claim I'm RIGHT, there's a big difference.

If I'm RIGHT, and I say in an offhand way "jeez they ought to do something about this traffic", people go "yeah, they should!"

If the pope is INFALLIBLE, and he says in an offhand way "Iesus, patre nomine Christo madre dios (insert more pidgin not-really-latin-no-matter-what-they-claim here) TRAFFIC!", then faithful Catholics around the world will put a 70's music group out of business.

See the difference? Well actually I imagine that you don't. Oh, well. At least I'm not offended that my sister-in-law married a black guy.
