I feel worse for the millions of people that adored him. I was watching the bells ring yesterday when i was supposed to be driving to work and i actually started tearing up when they were showing the peoples faces outside in the square.

its ok in my opinion to view him just as a guy. Because in fact, we are all just people. Some better than others, some good some bad ofcourse, but we are all the same. I'll give you an example from England... Princess Di.. i felt bad when she died but i didnt get upset about it, to me she was just a person.. to others more than that.

ofcourse im not sitting here saying these situations are the same because they are not. I liked the current pope. He was put into his office a few months before i was born, so hes the only pope ive ever known. But i enjoyed him as a humanbeing and how he cared and so many other aspects about this man that i thought were nice. But still hes just a human afterall.

From my stand point I thought that most religions state that we shall not worship anyone else but one God. Having a Multi God worship by Idolizing the holy saints are strange to me, but im not against it. So religion aside because i'm not really of any religion people should worship who they want to worship. so although i didnt worship the pope, i do feel sorry for the man and the population who did hold him up high. But hey everyone knows GOD I LOVE RELIGION THREADS.

We are all just people.. the admirable thing about John Paul was that he did not forget this. He did not set himself up on some pedestal saying "I'm better than you." He was a good priest and a good servant and remembered that this was his role. Though he spoke many languages and was quite an accomplished person, he remained a humble and kind man. He will be sorely missed in this world where such good examples are so rare.

He did it hard, the two previous popes had quite short times in the posititon. He lasted a lot longer time and a did most of it through infirmity. He helped getting some religions talking to each other, a nice leagcy I think.

If you are a Christian then it's only fitting that one should believe that he is in a far greater place than here. He lived a full life and among Catholics and Christians (and others if they so choose) his life should be celebrated for the many good things he did. For better or worse he reinvigorated the Catholic church after years of discord.
