    I need a hand ASAP with this problems

    Find two postive real numbers that differ by 2 and have a product of 10

    I have another..here goes:

    Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

    Here's what you need to do with the first one.
    You know:
    1) y = x + 2
    2) x * y = 10

    Substitute:

    x(x+2) = 10

    Solve the polynomial x^2 + 2x -10 = 0
    Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

      Second one:

      Square both sides. Get rid of the fraction by multiplying both sides by 4. Move crap around until you get it into polynomial form.


      Remember that both of these problems can be tackled with the quadratic equation.

          just a quicky, but these numbers i got were confirmed by my calculator.
          Full Manual worked out solutions below:
