My BMW, to this day, stinks the first few times you fire up the A/C in the summer, and the first few times you fire up the heater in the winter. *sigh*

We removed all the carpet from the car and power sprayed it with soap then lysol then soap again.. then put it back in. The funk remained.
Well, all-new carpet isn't THAT much. Sadly, getting some molded for a WAGON might be. So I'll see what I can do with this stuff. Might have to do a pull from a junkyard car, try to find a less smelly one.

The car doesn't really stink THAT bad, it just smells like ... old car and weed. *sigh*

There's one thing missing for that car.
Agallag got one for his new car - it really finished it off nicely.

pulling it out and giving it a REALLY good steam cleaning might work.

Yeah, you need to accessorize. Like this.

I apologize for the lack of updates. I bought a few interior trim bits (which I'll get pictures of up shortly), cleaned it (first pass), and removed the front seats. I haven't decided what to do about the carpet, but I'm tempted to replace it along with the headliner.

Also I took the brakes apart, they're sitting in a bucket of WD-40 waiting for me to do a further diagnosis, but nothing looked TOO broken.

So now it's up on blocks, cleaner than it was (although still pot/cigarette smelly), and waiting for me to have more money to tackle it further.

I got the repair manual from Chilton - the only one to address 1990 Volvos - and it also covers my 960 which is nice.

My budget took a hit because I had to put new rubber on the other Volvo last week.

                        careful!
WD40 tends to swell rubber parts and seals

But they seal much better afterwards*

PS. He took the breaks appart, so I assume he left the rubber out of the WD40.

Actually no I dropped them in whole. I'll be rebuilding or replacing the calipers, so I'll have brandy-spankin' new rubber bits anywho.
