  • Ferrari dropping Shumi for Rossi?

After Michael Schumacher's poor performance this 2005 Formula1 GP season,
Ferrari have shown keen interest to sign up Valentino Rossi as their new
driver later this year. Rossi has his four consecutive world championship
    in
motorcycling and Ferrari believes he will be worthy to take over from
current F1 champion. He is also used to racing with the same set of tyres
for full race as is required by the new F1 rules.

Rossi, very exited about this, jumped on the test drive opportunity at the
    Imola track.
Minor problems encountered are complaints by the FIA and other Drivers
    accepting Rossi's different driving style.

It's gotta be Ferrari that sucks this year. The car broke twice out of three races for Michael, and the other one he came in sixth. That was from a grid position of 13th. So either the cars are not as good this year or the other guys all caught up.

Ferarri had the arrongance to start in a modified version of last years car. With all the changes for this season that was obviously a bad idea (for them). Good idea for the rest of us cos this slow start should make the rest of the season much more interesting.
          FT.

The only way they can make F1 more interesting is to allow fitment of machine guns and landmine droppers to the cars.

machine guns would be acceptable (they would have to allow more tyre changeds in a race), but land mines would cause far too much damage to the racing surface.

I don't know where this rumour came from, but I just can't believe that Ferrari would sack the world's best F1 driver of all time just because of a bad season's start in a non-competitive car. It was mainly Ferrari that failed, not Schumacher. I'm sure Brawn and Todt are aware of that just as anyone else.
These stories about the Rossi-Ferrari flirt have been going on for some time now and if it would affect the team structure, Barichello will have to fear losing his job. Not Schumi, he's untouchable.

Agreed - it takes them something like 3 weeks to effect a serious change on the gearbox that was the reliability issue on the new car 2 weeks ago - lets see after next weekend's race..............

Actually Rossi has said he would like to move to four wheels after his two wheel career has finished, but this is more likely to be in rallying than F1

Well, nice joke then because it took me by surprise. I remember having read about Rossi having driven a Ferrari F1 car early this year, on invitation from Ferrari.
And I didn't even look close enough at the picture to see the funny details so I guess I took it all a bit too seriously. You got me there!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to next week's grand prix at Imola. Hoping to witness the resurrection of the Schumi/Ferrari reign.

Who would want that? I hope we never see another Schumi/Ferrari reign or any other reign in F1. It's just plain boring then. I stopped watching F1 altogether beacuse of Schumi/Ferrari reign, and I was a total fan before that. Never missed a race in 5 years or more... Races are again interesting and I hope it continues like this...

Well - nobody actually have gone and banned the progress other teams were able to make in the past few years............
