  • HHGTTG - Live from the premiere

if you have time, here's a stream of the live footage from the world premiere last wednesday (approx. one hour long)

    http://redcarpet.thefilmfactory.co.uk/redcarpet/
Presented by Jenny Faulkner (Ex-GMTV), it will be as if you are attending the premiere yourself. You will see all the stars on the red carpet, see all the interviews, together with exclusive clips from the movie. You might even see a few people from h2g2!

    Have fun

    Saw the film yesterday
Not bad, take it for what it is, its not a book/tv show/radio show or cd.
The book interaction doesn't quite work on the big screen and some of the punch lines have been watered down or removed, if the producers had gone for a 15 rating more of the book humour could have been included.
Lots of vogons though some people will see parallels in this flim with Terry Gilliams(spelling?) darker Brazil.
I don't know why John Malcovik was in it, I can only asume his role will be expanded in the sequel, lunch anyone!
The ending was very Disney, but it needed some kind of closure.

I'm now going to have a lie down and then get a thoughly good cup of hot tea.

Seen the trailer...I'm afraid I just won't see that movie...I might just re-read the book instead...

Frankly I thought it was mostly dire.

Ford Prefect was mostly a non-character.
        Zaphod was annoying.
        Trillian was tolerable.
        Arthur was good.
        Marvin was good.
        Slartibartfast was good.
        Deep Thought was abysmal.
Voice of the book was good.
Explosion of the earth was rubbish.

Most of the funnier lines were delivered with a total lack of comic timing or dramatic effect and were lost entirely.

At the end of the day, everything was better in the TV series, including the book animations.
