Apparently, one of the driving forces was to garner greater penetration into the Japanese market.

"You couldn't get it through the door of apartments in a lot of places," joked Peter Moore, a corporate vice president in the Xbox division.

All said, I do find the PS3 design more attractive in terms of the box itself, still undecided on the controllers.

I dont care for the white all that much...reminds me too much of an Ipod. Would love to see it in a Brushed aluminum though

Don't really care about the looks of the damn consoles right now. All I'm interested in is where Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive is going. If it's on the console, I'll be getting it.
