I'm glad I didn't read those words 20 years ago when I was teaching HS in the US

            Congrats DukeP!

Hmm... for me, I'd shot myself if I ever become a teacher. I have horrible language skills. Wait, that's why I signed up for engineering thinking that I won't need it, just like the other 100 people in my class, but after going in the prof said "oh look, language and communications skills required"

            ROFLMAO.

As for a professor, I can live with that b/c students can't do anything if they can't give lectures. And in my ECE department, there's this very famous prof who can't teach for life, known among all the faculty members and students XD But then, I am never going to be smart enough to be any sort of prof/lecteurer/TA. Oh, did I mention being any of those listed above I can actually revenge on what the uni is doing to me right now

Most math teachers can't teach worth a flip but get jobs doing so. Every math teacher I had in college (except for two who were fairly good teachers) could not communicate worth a shit. All they could do was work homework problems on the board. One was from China and one from Argentina and one was just a friggin introvert from hell. I learned nothing from them except that I could not read minds in a friggin foreign language, nor could I understand the logic in calculus when all they did was clam up and write out problems on the chalkboard. And not only was the logic not explained, but the Chinese guy assigned every easy problem for homework and then pulled out every trick problem for the tests. That's the only class I ever failed in my life, and I'm still bitter about it. I HATE ****ING MATH AND I HATE ****ING MATH PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

                  Thanks All!

Ive actually been teaching most of my life - and I just figured out that it was because I liked it.

Oh and Kv? Eventually I will be teaching math as well as biology.
