Must be lots of people driving bulldozers around running over buildings, KvH's was in Colorado, and he was most certainly dead (by his own hand.)

hey man, speak for yourself. there is nothing that is preventing you from joining the revolution if you want.

as far as the weapons go... the American Army didn't have shit for weapons when they started the Revolutionary War. the British Army was by far better equiped, better staffed, and (argueably) better trained.

blaming failure to succeed on the weapons you have available is, for the most part, bullshit.

The next election cycle should be very interesting and exciting for the politicians who support this decision.

This will likely get worse before it gets better.

There are instances of projects being built around homes of those who did not wish to sell. If a corporation or individual is rich enough to bribe local officials to condemn citizen's properties, it should be rich enough to offer enough of a premium to entice most people to move. Our culture has gone the way of the banana republic, though, it seems. I know what goes on in communities and big local developers are always buddy-buddy with city council members. This also opens the path for corrupt city officials (of which there is apparently a surplus) to use eminent domain as a vindictive weapon against those they don't like. If the power is there, it is bound to be misused.

Now, there are some cases where ornery old people just refuse to sell old dilapidated buildings that are NOT their homes, and in many cases are completely unoccupied. I could understand condemning these properties, but if the city or other govt authority does this they must in any case offer a premium over the property's appraised value when the owner is not willing to sell. Special protection should be granted to homes and busineses that are in use. No coercive measures should deprive anyone of thier homes or livelihood against their will. This goes against every principle and spirit upon which the founding fathers based this nation.

As Doc noted, look at WHO is on the side of depriving such individuals of their freedom. People outside the US who wonder why we vote Republican should have their eyes opened by this.

First of all nods to KvH on why we vote for conservatives (not all Republicans quality, but some Democrats do).

It was in SW Detroit; an ethnic community called CorkTown. It was claimed under emminent emminent domain and torn down for a General Motors plant.

Yes, this was one of several cases that eventually made it to the Michigan Supreme Court.

Unfortunately this ruling may have gone too far the other way in that now it's even difficult to claim unused or abandoned properties for renewal, which is why there are so many decrepit and/or abandoned buildings in Detroit and its suburbs.

                        pssshhh...

if I *ever* had the cash to do it, I would love to pick up a AR-15 upper that is chambered for 6.8mm rounds and has a 14.5" barrel. it would cost way too much to afford at the moment though

Since I got the FALs the Ar sits in the safe unfired/unloved

The FALs are heavier but much more reliable and accurate.

did you happen to see the new Springfield Socom's that they added? they have one with a 16.25" barrel, tritium front sight post and forward mounted picitany rail section. mmmmm.

edit: the other (SOCOM II) is almost the same, except it has a full blown RIS on it.

Whats the problem with this law? In the UK we have had Compulsary Purchase Orders for years, if the govt want to build a bypass (you've got to build bypasses) they will give you £20 for your land (house) and say ta ta.
Everything I say is true apart from that which is not

And some people used to living in Stalinist Russia said in response to the forced famine: "Oh well, you have to break some eggs to make an omelet."
