Was that part of your post really necessary?

KvH must have said something specific to you once that really pissed you off.

    What exactly was it?

KvH, you should try to understand why it's upset Gurm so much and consider apologising.
    P.S. You've been Spanked!

to build on what Gurm said... I've also seen a lot of negative impact on kids because of this... the man grows up, gets a job and maybe an education and does what he was raised to - provide an income. yet the woman, not having discipline or even responsibility, doesn't do a goddamn thing. she doesn't even maintain the house. eventually they either have a kid or she gets a job - or both. in any case, the kid winds up in day care because she doesn't want to deal with looking after the kid and he has to work to provide the income. the kid winds up raised by TV or Day Care, instead of the parents.

there have been many fundamental shifts in the way people handle their kids over the last several decades. it really, really scares me.

other than that... there has been many, many changes to the way guys perceive women too. i know of a lot of guys that will not hesitate to flirt with or hit on a married woman. odds are she will sleep with them despite being married, and even if she wasn't i've seen it ruin many good relationships because after enough people pester her, maybe she finds someone who provides her temporary happyness and she is foolish enough to trade longterm happyness for it.

not making sense at the moment. god i hate mornings. hehe.

Excuse me? You'd better be both temporarily retarded AND joking to utter such a thing.

murg can go straight to hell. He has a lot more apologising to do than I ever have, and even if he did, I would know it wasn't sincere. He is rotten to the core.

No no, you made perfect sense. It happens, it really does. It's tough - we've traded sexual liberty for decreased morality. Since sex is no big deal, it isn't something special to be shared between a married couple any more. While I am NOT for "abstinence only", per se, I think that if more people waited until they found the right person... *sigh* it's a complex issue.

When??? I've seen you mention this several times but not seen the actual statement from KvH. You're going to have to provide a link for me to believe that someone would say that in this day and age. There's nothing in the bible to justify this opinion.

Well, he's guilty of that for sure, but I'm not sure how jovial I'd be if I knew there was a 90% chance that any post I made would be attacked and my character was constantly being besmirched.

I agree that the tone of his post was disturbing. I was hoping that he might open up a little bit on where that came from (slim chance of that now) so that we might be able to help him see the silver lining. Hey, it might have been good for a chuckle too.

I too think that you made a lot of sense.

Our society is sort of at a moral precipice. I'm confident that we'll recover.

interesting, i share a similar perspective... i'm not all about abstinence, but I do believe sex should mean something. kinda annoying, since i work around a bunch of people who do not share the same views I get a lot of crap for not wanting to hump every female i see.

                  *shrug*...

See this is what happens when my only net access any more is work. I got away and stuff like this happens. Am I missing something or did quoted posts then get altered or deleted?

On the topic itself I agree with what Gurm and DGhosts monologues talk about. It honestly something that I've noticed a lot of. Now I'm going to be generalizing BIG here but I've just moved back to the Northeast from the Northwest and I find this problem is actually FAR worse over there. I've talked with other northeasterners and they've noticed the same trend. Boundries just aren't there, the concept of personal space is severely lacking in the NW. As an example, say you get a phone call at your house while you have guests over. You excuse yourself and try and make it brief. When you get back in GENERAL someone from the NW will ask "Who was that? What did you talk about?" while a person from the NE will expect those details to come up if it's relavent to them and continue with the conversation.

Anyway, lets keep this civil everyone, I've honestly been enjoying the conversations in MURC more lately and would like to continue to. IE, I like the heated debate but lets keep the mud slinging to a minimum.

Private messages, to multiple people, multiple times. But I'm not going to ask them to repost if they're not comfortable doing so and making THEMSELVES targets... but I've seen the transcripts.

And yet I keep posting, despite attacks from Greebe, KvH, RedRed... funny how some of us are grownups, y'know?

I agree that the tone of his post was disturbing. I was hoping that he might open up a little bit on where that came from (slim chance of that now) so that we might be able to help him see the silver lining. Hey, it might have been good for a chuckle too.
No chuckles. It isn't funny. It's not just disturbing, it's disgusting. For someone to have the views that he has in this day and age... of course, HE'LL say that his views are right and just because the rest of the world has come to hold immoral wrong viewpoints doesn't mean he should.

It's really quite upsetting. I don't like EVER hearing women referred to as "dyke bitches" just because they want to be equal to men, and yet if you look it up you'll find where he has said they are - REPEATEDLY. He has never DENIED the "abomination" quote, now HAS HE? It's really sad, and quite offensive, to have a racist, misogynist ****ole posting.

(Add to that the fact that he complains a BIT TOO LOUDLY whenever gays come up, which... y'know *wink*wink*wink*nudge*wink*)

That's right.. anyone with opinions other than those approved by the state must get the zyklonB/crematorium treatment, is that it, murg? You're sounding like old Adolf once again.
