    That thing is not street legal. Plus it's way too dangerous to drive it on open roads.

        Put in a bid

        Actually, I'm trying to decide if it's real or photoshop.

          I've seen real jetcars and they tend to be a lot longer for stability and the fact that this is an MR2 with 2 turbines, I'm beginning to wonder that too.

          Probably doesn't get more than a mile on a tank of fuel.

            Probably real given that adding jet engines to mini-cars is a custom car subculture, esp. in the western US. This one has 3 jets tacked on its tail;

            and I've personally seen as many as 5.

            Length isn't a reliable indicator given what can be done with aerodynamics. Check out that beard spoiler on the MR2.

              I would'nt think this is a working engine, probably just for show here's why...

              For any turbine engine you must have massive airflow in and out, which is why in your typical air craft engine the input is normally larger to gather as much air which is then compressed and forced out a much smaller tube causing thrust.

              In the MR2 I don't see no massive intake compartments or anything, in fact the front on the turbine is aligned right behind the driver, if this was the case at full throttle, it would suck him in like a bird

              Comments?

              Cheers,
              Elie

                  The General Electric T-58-3 is not a thrust engine but is instead a "baby gas turbine" engine mostly used in helicopters.

                  For purposes such as these its tail is modded to provide thrust and its standard inlet removed. The rear mod involves removing the gear drive section and fitting a tailcone, giving you gas producer loud enough to wake the dead.

                  As such its inlet requriements are modest compared to a thrust jets. A good example of fitting a lot into a little is this T58-3 jet-modded ATV;

                  Not much room for a big inlet there either

                    I've got a feeling modifying the engine like that invalidates the warranty.

                      "stayed solid thru 187 mph" and "no compressor stall thru 145 mph" make me wonder what kinda condition the engines are in...

                        The T58 is one of the most reliable gas turbine designs ever created. In one form or another they've been around since the early 50's and are still being produced.
