3rd attempt to reply. Combination beyween morphine and no glasses. I received 50mls morphine when i first woke, but nothing else. If i could get the fog from between my ears and the sandpaper from my throat i'd be like Tommy the Tiger.

Try 750 mg of Vicodin and 90 mg of Demerol, alternating between 'em evey 2 hours plus 800 mg of Motrin and 600 mg of Neurontin every 4 hours each. That's what I was on with that hand infection.

That stuff had me spending most of last fall/winter on the couch drooling on myself and it still hurt like a sonofabitch

                  Vicodin: hydrocodone + acetaminophen
Demerol: meperidine hydrochloride (similar in action to morphene)
Neurontin: gabapentin (anti-seizure med also used for various pain syndromes)
                  Motrin: ibuprofen

Cheers T, nice to feel loved

My analgesia requirements are rather modest now. The inscison is high enough so that i can walk, and low enough that only maximal inspiration hurts. Bending/coughing/laughing is another story. I've has to give bash.org a miss now.....

When I had that corneal abrasion, they gave me a Lortab (Hydrocodone) prescription, but the damn things didn't seem to do anything. I had a few left over afterwards, and even when I didn't feel like I had broken glass in my eye it still didn't seem to have any perceivable narcotic effect. I got far more effective pain relief just by simply laying down and listening to audio books while meditating (I hate to use that word though, sounds too cheesy. )

Back home safe and sound - although I now need to hound my GP for painkillers and a sicknote. I've got enough from my secret stash to keep me comfortable, but it's nice to do things by the book...
