40 Year Old Virgin was unexpectedly hilarious and Ong Bak was quite good.

Anyone remember the Beowulf movie they made a couple or few decades ago - don't specifically recall when it came out? Memory is foggy, but I think it dealt almost exclusively with his battle against Grendel, and possibly his mother.

Still, if done right it could be quite good.

Edit: And I don't mean Eaters of the Dead or The 13th Warrior (novel and movie, respectively). Looking I've only found a couple older animated retellings and a few more recent films.

There was a Beowulf movie that came out a few years ago (well, at least 5 or so) with Christopher Lambert

So, I went to go see 40 Year old Virgin last night, but i got there and the theatre was full!! So instead we saw Two for the Money with Al Pacino - I was really impressed!! Pacino was awesome.

Lamberts movie was in 1999 and lame. There was also a Russian made Animated Epics made in 1998 that was pretty good given the limitations of its style.

              There are actually two Beowulf features in production;

              Beowulf: Prince of the Geats

              Director: Scott Wegener

              Beowulf: Jeff Carpenter
              Ecglac: Joe Thomas
              Aeschere: Burt McCollom
              Prince Ingeld: Micah Shane Ballinger
              Thelin: Eric Feliciano
              Queen: Lisa Baldwin
              Olin: John Brickner
              Horick: Bradley Scott Tharp
              Helldam: Apollo Bacala

              and

Beowulf (next-gen Polar Express style animation)

              Director: Robert Zemeckis

              Beowulf: Ray Winstone
Grendel: Crispin Glover (!! casting !!)
Queen of Darkness: Angelina Jolie (voice)
              Wulfgar: Sebastian Roché
              Anthony Hopkins
              John Malkovich
              Brendan Gleeson
              Robin Wright Penn
              Shay Duffin
              Alison Lohman

              Guess which one I'm targeting?
