Looks like y'all need to wait for the Live fix... the newer games that actually look good... oh wait and the compatibility fix!

Friend of mine got this, and maybe HALF of his XBox games work on the 360. He traded in the XBox, and he's SO PISSED OFF because he can't play literally half of his games, including the Lego Star Wars he got for Christmas. But Barbie Horse Adventures works.

Nice job, Microsoft!

Well MS is coming out with add on HD-DVD Drive for the Xbox 360

In other news...I'm finally getting my Xbox 360. I ordered a bundle deal though Walmart.com and I plan on bringing back the $350 dollar speaker set I have no use for and a couple other things. I'll hopefully get it next week.

Uh your friend is a ****ing idiot...the compatiblatly list was published a couple weeks before Launch..with more being added as time went on as long as they didnt use specific Nvidia calls in their programing like Far Cry: Instinicts and others

Well, the DOA4 has a manual temp fix. So I'm aware of that. And I'm only interested in DOA4 anyway. Maybe PGR3, but that's all right now.

How is he an idiot? He was aware of what was on the list, but that doesn't stop people from getting him stuff for Christmas that he can't play!

That list is pathetically tiny! Only the FIRST Prince of Persia game (which was released 2 years ago), neither of the newer ones. But jeez, BARBIE HORSE ADVENTURES works! And every game with the name "Tony Hawk" or "Tom Clancy" works. Only two of the four Harry Potter games...

It's arbitrarily stupid. Their emulation was FAR from ready. I'm sure they'll improve it as time goes on, but anyone who bought an XBox 360 thinking that it would be backwards compatible... will be pretty disappointed.

Sony, on the other hand, will be sure to make the PS3 100% compatible. I have yet to find a PSX game that doesn't run on the PS2, although I'm told there are maybe one or two out there.

Essentially, people are paying $400 for the privilege of playing DOA a couple months early. Wow, sign me up! (sarcasm)

I didn't. What I meant was that people are paying through the nose to get the 360 a couple months earlier than it otherwise would have debuted. Microsoft have created an artificial shortage. Doubt me? Ask your local store when they're getting more in. "February". Yeah, ok. Coincidentally just long enough before the PS3 comes out that they can sell out again.

The whole thing is a sham, intended to bilk people out of an extra $100... because as soon as the PS3 hits, the deluxe XBox will drop from $400 to $300.

And Walmart.com has had them in stock for the past couple days...they are bundles, but Walmart has a good return policy, so I'm bringing back the Speaker System that I got as part of my bundle ($350 bucks worth of it) as credit.

As for Xbox compatiblity....MS never said that everything would work with it, mostly major titles. I dont get why backwards compatabitly is such a big deal, besides saving space...if you want to play an old game, just use the older system that you orginally had it on! Then again if you like me, I very rarely play a game again after the first time since most of them have 0 replaibly in my eyes. As for the older games..why make new releases like Madden 2006 for the xbox work with the Xbox360, your cutting into your profits. I wonder how Sony will handle that one...then again why buy a next gen Game for the PS2 when the same thing will be out for the PS3 with better eye candy?

As for a Price cut, If the rumors that the PS3 will be North of $400 dollars, MS can keep its price as is. I really doubt theres a large market for $499 game system without any games that come with it.

It was great for people with more than one TV. Just move the old system to another room, but still have a lot of games you could play either place.

Sour grapes? Seriously?

I'm not entirely sure how that's possible. In order for it to be sour grapes, I'd need to be jealous. I'm not - I'm unashamedly critical. The XBox platform has been, and continues to be, something I'm largely uninterested in. How is that sour grapes?
