I've lived with a reactor IMBY for most of my life; the Fermi plant which is about 20 miles SE of here.
Not that I feel that great about it because it's a fast breeder that has already had a near-meltdown in one of its reactors (read the book "We Almost Lost Detroit"). We live with it because it's necessary until it's replaced....hopefully with a network of smaller PBMR's.
