Yes, the server fund is more appreciated, though it is sad to see the original name go.
when we moved to this server, and I moved to the murc.ws name, was a while ago, so google has had chance to catch up
I may re-introduce the google ads for a bit however, not so much to get clicks or fund raising, but its a real quick way to get google to update its search database
I appreciate the willingness of people to try to grab the original domain name, but apart from 7 years of history to the URL, not much has changed, MURC is still here ticking over. the only thing we have lost that might cause problems, is the email accounts associated with it.
Well the accounts are still there, just nothing comming into them.
I did purchase the matroxusers.net and .org names this morning, and I will either move the mail accounts over to one of them, or start moving to the murc.ws domain name.
And Schmo is right, while I have had some donations - and some large ones at that at times, a good chunk of this comes out of my pocket. I won't mention current running costs, but with the server - which I pay a premium for, but we all remember the days at burst yeah - the software licence fees, domain name fees etc. it does eat a chunk out of my pocket.Juu nin to iro
English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleys, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.
