It WAS worse last time. Logan was 10lb. 14oz. and delivered "naturally". Jacob, at least, was a scheduled C-Section. We had NO desire to deal with the whole "4th level tearing" thing again, and the risk goes UP for subsequent pregnancies, as does the risk of complications. We dodged a bullet last time - no cystoseal, no rectoseal (I'm probably spelling those wrong), no descended bladder, no loss of sensation, no incontinence. We're REALLY lucky. The odds of being that lucky with another level 4 tear are SLIM. Add to that the fact that Julie's sister ALSO tore that bad, with a much smaller (6.5lb.) baby, and you have a genetic predisposition. We decided not to risk it.Originally posted by Dr MordridCongrats!!
Tell Julie it could have been worse.
Our smallest was 9 lb

So she's up and walking around today - and in a bit of pain but nothing that isn't manageable with tylenol-3.
She turned down the percocet, vicodin and whatever because she really hates the way those make you feel.

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah

I would still get screwed

..nothing beats dreaming while you're awake..
Try 750 mg of Vicodin with a 100 mg Demerol chaser sometime, then repeat every 4 hours for 2-3 months
