Those were the days when the bad guy could empty his gun at Superman's chest and he would just stand there laughing. But when the bad guy threw the empty gun at him he'd duck.

That's 'cause the bullets were special effects and the gun wasn't.

That was made fun of in one of the Justice League cartoons. A crook empties an entire clip at Wonder Woman and then gets ready to throw the gun and which point she looks at him very annoyed and says "Yeah, like that's going to work."
