Bad enough that Julie wants me to replace the seat cushions for the driver's seat and rear bench. But not so bad that I couldn't wait a month or two to do so. The tear in the rear bench is under where Jacob's carseat-base would go, and I can always buy a $10 cover from walmart for the driver's seat temporarily.Originally posted by ZokesProHow bad is the interior for car#1?
The armrest is pretty beat but not cracked, just old/worn. But that's $50.The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

I was being facetious with Tjalfe. I quite probably will be using the truck to haul and tow things. We are always transporting big TVs and such which don't fit in the van here. I also wanted something which would be reliable and drive like a car and look good, too. The Tundra pretty much fits the bill. Hoping now that I don't get one of the few lemons out there.. (crosses fingers)Originally posted by NowhereIf reliabilty is your main criteria, I'm sure Toyota Aygo or Corolla isn't worse

Don't think the Aygo is even marketed here. You really should take a trip to Texas and see what things are like here. We don't have the short, ultra-civilized trips typical to a nice European city. We drive long distances and need something that rides well for those distances.. I also go to jobsites where the roads are sometimes gravel or dirt. We do lots of custom installation in new construction homes and driving out there in a euroultraeconobox would get me thoroughly laughed at, if I could even get the thing to the site.

I already checked that. The rear bench is about $100 from a wreck (local shops have them in stock). The front cushion is around $100, or if a cushion that matches can't be found, it's $250 to replace the entire heated/powered seat.Originally posted by ZokesProHmm. I wonder how much used seats would cost or even if they have some for the 850 in scrap yards? The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

KvH, I weren't totally serious too (after all...Aygo), but you mentioned something worth attention IMHO. That you'd be "laughed at"...because such car wouldn't be manly enough...
Besides, those "econocars" are often perfectly capable of riding on gravel roads. Only when there's no road (or something "road like") they could have a problem. Anyway, I'd aim probably for Subaru Impreza in such cases
And...how big are those TVs if they don't fit in van?
