Wanna hear something crazy? The guy I work with just got off that same boat this weekend before you got on it. And he's from Oklahoma, too. I suppose it still has one engine out, so your itinerary got messed up? His wife was really disappointed because they had a scuba expedition all set up in Honduras and that got struck from the ports of call.

KvH, you didn't tell that story right, when you say "I work with a guy who was just on that boat" you're supposed to follow up with something like "I hope they cleared up that problem with the rats, he and his wife both almost died from the Plague while onboard."

        The engine is fixed!

We will get to every place but Cancun, which is not taking ships after Wilma quite yet.
(like for six months! they must have really gotten messed up.)

So how was the trip? The guy I work with said it was a pretty good trip for him anyhow, but they still would have preferred Roatan to Progresso.

It was a nice get away.
No vpn, no rd. I haven't been that disconnected from work in the last 7 years!

            We stopped in:
Cosumel, Mexico- Just ate and poked around. The place was really messed up by Wilma and had just barely opened back up. The old buildings just needed to be spiffed back up a bit. The newer ones looked like brand new construction. The storm had stripped them down to the bare concrete.
We had a nice time there anyway. Pretty lazy stop over.

Roatan, Honduras- Got to pet a dolphin! Then a BBQ at the beach, but they were nearly out of food by then
ChooChoo just LOVED the beach. She pretty much screamed with joy for 2 hours and finally was reduced to just rolling back & forth in the surf going WHEEEEE.
Daddy and Mommy were mostly just cold and hungry.

Belize City, Belize- Took a bus 50 miles inland to the Belize Zoo. Didn't expect much but it was a great little zoo! Then lunch and a cruize down the Old Belize River back to town in a power boat, on which we got to see crocodiles, iguanas, and dolphns. It was fun.

The ship was fun too but, as gambling bores me, there was not much to do but drink and eat and watch the world go by.
            Lots of good food.
ChooChoo wouldn't stay in the day care center onboard, so I did a lot of swimming in the the VERY COLD pools with her.

Highly recomended as a way to really get away from it all.

On the way back from Houston we stopped at Becky's brother's farm in (near) Hillsboro. So we were right in your neighborhood.

PS I appear to have anti-sea sickness. When I over-ate the rocking of the ship seemed to help
            I found it relaxing.

            Edit: Misspelled Hillsboro
