    I didn't see the episode.

What were the people she had been staying with like? Were they agnostic? Jews? Muslims?
    P.S. You've been Spanked!

Anyone see the episode where the pastor's wife reduced the atheist husband to (almost) tears? Beyond just being amusing it shows how intolerant both sides can be.

I'm wondering why you know so much about this show?

Seriously though, my thoughts about this show can be summed up by a lovely Boondocks cartoon, lemme see if I can find it:
                Attached Files
The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

I'm the least you could do
If only life were as easy as you
I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
                I would still get screwed

This made me chuckle for several minutes.

I actually thought the same thing when I heard about the show.

Hate to admit it, but I do partake of an occasional episode, just seem to have the luck that the ones I watch are the ones with the nutters. Truth be told, I think I've seen four episodes.

And yes, I think that cartoon sums it up nicely.

Unfortunately programs like this, Jerry Springer etc. pick the lowest common denominator in any groups they represent in their programming. This often results in these groups as a whole getting stigmatized. IMO this is no different than the racial humor before TV came along (ex: Stephen Fetchet, Little Sambo etc.) The only difference is that the target group isn't racially based.

This begets more of the same in other areas of public discourse and pretty soon even "normal" people are spewing it in public, something like Gurm did earlier in this thread re: Christians, even if they try to guise it with humor.

And 9 times out of 10 when you find a gi-friggin-normous woman with bad teeth and a southern accent... she's been "baptized in the blood". Hoooooooooooo-hah.
                        IMO not funny.

Mordrid, the difference is that race is something you were born with and didn't choose, nor does it say anything about your charakter, intellect, belief, way of life, etc. (Not directly, anyway. Don't start an argument, KvH!). Not so with being an extremist idiot of whatever facon.

Discrimination is discrimination; morally, legally and intellectually. It doesn' t matter how you're catagorizing who you do it to.
