    That's not the only way of avoiding unethical business practices. There are plenty of people have quite moral and ethical ways of producing goods. Just because it is done by "practically all big business" doesn't mean that's the only way to do it.

    I recently saw the Colbert Report where he debates himself on torture. One argument being that torture is cruel and quite usual form of punishment, thus not being unconstitutional as a cruel and unusual punishment.

      I was simply refering to the fact that in the link posted, it was De Beers this and De Beers that and I see no reason why they should be singled out from so many (yes, not all, but plenty) companies that take advantage of workers in poor countries.

        They just get a lot of attention since they have a corner on the diamond market, and treat the entire thing much like a racket. They're no worse than other less high-profile companies.

          Perhaps because they sell somthing essentially useless, I don't know... (sure, there are "usues" for diamonds...but promoted by them it appears)
