Disney itself did well with incorporating CG into their animated movies not so many years back. "Beauty & The Beast" (ballroom scene) and "The Lion King" (stampeded scence) spring to mind. That said, Disney's in-house animated movies have been getting worse and worse, with many going straight to video.

Sad really. Walt must be rolling over in his grave.

      The difference is not tech.

Pixar = Great art, music, stories, writing, "set design".
      Recent Disney = not

It wouldn't matter if they were all done in hand drawn pencil animation.

        Agreed.

Disney has been concentrating less and less on story ever since Poc-my-hontas came out. They have gotten caughten too much in celebrity voices, cool effect, wild stories and other crap that makes animation bad and boring.

Pixar on the other hand has hired some of the best story tellers around to write for them. The art part is easy. Anyone can hire a room full or artists and CG geeks and make a movie, as net movies have proved, but it takes a master to write a good story. Pixar is essentially Ghibli Studios West ... but without the sappy environmental overtones.

Kenturo Miura's Berserk (though the books do look interesting). Japanese manga and anime.
