Now, since I've answered your question, please answer mine. What if that teacher has kept his position during the inquiery and during that time molested your kid?

Hey, I already GAVE an example of a REAL situation that resulted in MORE girls being raped. Between the time the first girl reported the gym teacher at my middle school, and the time he was ACTUALLY SUSPENDED he raped several girls.
Now go tell THEIR PARENTS that there's such a thing as overreaction.
--------------
Incidentally, this guy finally has done his time for rape and is getting paroled. So what does he ask for permission to do? He wants permission to go to the high school so he can watch his daughter play basketball. The F***ING NERVE of this guy... it's unreal.
--------------
On an unrelated topic, one of the reasons this guy got such preferential treatment? He used to play minor league ball. Yeah, that's right. He's a "local sports hero".
The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
I would still get screwed

Oh no Gurm, tell them things went according to quote: 'the law of the land'
You see, most of them are sitting on top of mount whatever, telling the little ant-people below how to live their lives according to the 'law of the land'. Just wait for them to feel it on their skin, we'll see what kind of song they'll be singing...

That girl was assaulted at SCHOOL by one of her TEACHERS.
You're already taking this as fact? I'm one of the first people to believe a victim, but in this case we're *incredibly* low on details.

She's probably safer alone in the street than in a school that keeps such teachers in direct contact with the students that accuse them with assault.
I'm SO happy I'm not your child.
Are you illiterate? The start of this thread says "Because of the allegation, the school placed the assistant on paid leave Tuesday."
Also, the allegations were made sometime Monday, and a meeting was held Tuesday (while school was in session, so pretty early) to find out what they were. "When he saw that the man was not in the meeting, he asked his daughter to take him to the classroom." So he hunted the man down.
I can't really blame the school here, looks like they were trying to quickly get a minimum of information before acting. Less than 24 hours, probably - it's unlikely the girl could have said anything to her father before she got home Monday. Sounds fair to ask a couple questions before suspending a man who's been there since 1999 with a clean record, and they made efforts to ask those questions THAT DAY.

Yes, re read what happened to me, from the teachers perspective.
Should he have been removed from contact with the students, quite probably.
Should the father take matters into his own hands, on school property, in front of other students. NO DAMN WAY.
Again, this story is a little too damn light on actual info and facts.
The 'grab the torch and pitchforks' amongst you are starting to really piss me off. The school board ****ed up badly. That is the only thing we CAN surmise at this point.
That and the girl in question was quite possibly not a validictorian

That's one hell of a quick teacher, molested all the girls in a single day and all of the parents calles together on the same day. Even so, if so many parents made the call on the same day, why was the teacher still teaching and why wasn't he in the meeting?
Still didn't answer my questions Wombat, are you dodging them on purpose?

So you mean that what he did was right?
Punching the guy in front of a class, actually served a purpose, other than the guy feeling better?
Are you suggesting that whenever you feel the law to not be right, you just do what feels right?

Already have. I said it was more likely to me that a bunch of students would jump on the bandwagon, especially since, as we've noted, very little time had passed between the first allegation and this incident. I also discussed your colorfully-highlighted hypothetical, covering your second quote.

Dan, if you'd get into a heated argument with a person that might have molested your daughter, you'd do worse than punch him.

Gurm was kind enough to give you a real-life case. My question stands. If your daughter tells you her teacher molested her, how would you react, especially since you trust her never to tell a lie and have her friends to back her word?

I was kind enough to give you a real life case as well.
and yes, her friends did 'Jump on the bandwagon'

That's quite a creative way for you to interpret that. What's your basis? It's most likely in error.
In fact, these other girls may not have said anything at all, after re-re-reading the original submission. It is only the father of THIS GIRL that "said he came to the school to meet with officials about allegations made by his daughter and other female students." The way that reads to me is that no other parents said anything. It's more likely that HIS daughter said, "And Kimmy and Rachel told me he did the same to them." Still only one source. I haven't seen anything in Google News about other girls/parents coming forward, yet.

Gurm's example has nothing to do with this case. FIRST allegations made MONDAY. Meeting held TUESDAY. Sure doesn't smell like a cover-up to me. Also, this man is likely a fool to think that his daughter, who gets suspended, "never tells a lie." Also, as I've noted, there is nothing here that says her father even talked to other girls - how can you say they're backing her word?

I've already replied, it just takes a while to catch up to you. I can only reply while I wait for stuff to compile.

There's a complete lack of information concerning anything but the bare "facts" in this case. Definitely too little for any of the suppositions being made.
It's all mere conjecture at this point.

Swafford and his wife were to meet with school administrators and school resource officers early Tuesday morning about the allegation that Mathis molested his daughter Thursday.
A complaint was filed Monday.
So if it happened Thursday, where was this dilligent father on Friday? He heard the news, and then 5 days later walks in and slugs the TA? Go ahead TX, and tell me about his sleepless nights. Or did his daughter just sit on the information herself for 4 days? Or did she make it up after a bad Monday?

Actually I'd venture that he was willing to see this through via the normal channels, but when the meeting occured and the teacher in question was not only not at said meeting but still in class as usual, he went to contront the fellow and after a heated exchange, snapped.
The father's expectations of what should have been happening weren't met, and having grown up in that part of Florida, what happened as a result really isn't that surprising.
But again, there's just not enough concrete information to make any judgements beyond it being a stupid move on the father's part. Understandable, but stupid.
