I currently have a 50in DLP TV on a boring Silver TV Stand that I bought when I got it. I'm not a big fan of the pure silver look in furnture, so I've been looking to get a new stand. I'm looking for something thats in a Honey/Light Cherry finish, with extra points if it has brushed nickel/silver accents on it. I would also like to get AV Tower to put next to it (or two), since I have a wedge table in front of my sectional couch that makes seeing my cable box,Xbox360, or Reciever impossible to see while on the couch.

    I found this:

    And this:

But I'd rather not put out $1300 on just a TV stand with 2 AV Racks!

    Any suggestions?
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

We had the same problem trying to get a stereo cabinet to go under the projection screen, mainly because of the limited height - 27" between the screen and the floor. After spending half a day looking at various stores, we found a custom furnitre maker that made one exactly to our specs (60"wide x 25" high x 20" deep), in the wood, colour and finish we wanted for LESS than any of the versions we found at the stereo shops
Yeah, well I'm gonna build my own lunar space lander! With blackjack aaaaannd Hookers! Actually, forget the space lander, and the blackjack. Ahhhh forget the whole thing!

I built my own from pine with dark-glass doors to keep the kids out. Now we have the LCD we are quite tempted by some of the glass-shelved units, and the prices are starting to come down to something more reason. Still need to keep the kids away though, and there are several miles of rats nest at the back to try and hide.

Ideally we'd wall-mount the TV, but then there's the issue of where to put all the components, and how to route the cables discretely.

to building your own - I've done the same and it contains 2 computers, router, modem, WiFi AP, TV receiver, various bits of other stuff and the entire rats nest of cables except for a couple under the carpet leading off to the TV and speakers. Building my own also allowed me to optimise the airflow around the computers, meaning little or no noise...

Oh, and the keyboard and mouse are of course wireless, and the LCD monitor is on a nice long bendy-arm-wall-bracket thing...

It's just ruined at the moment by the 19" CRT sitting on a desk next to it all because my brother's in the spare room
