    This is just one of several cases like this I've read about in the last week or so.

    Time to find out what Fido's nose is latching onto.....

    Yeah, I've heard of this as well. Problem is I've also heard - although maybe the information is out of date - that the most sensitive olfactory sensor we can build is still extraordinarily outclassed by your average bloodhound.

    That makes pinning this sort of thing down difficult.

    BUT, I could see finding a dog that can do this, and is trainable... and a growth industry in cancer-sniffing dogs.

      Nature has all sorts of "technologies" we can use. Good reason to not let things go extinct, never know what might be beneficial to humans.
