"...suffering under his rule..." An interesting choice of words. I don't know if that works though. I think the peasants of the dark ages Europe suffered under their king's rule. I think the Chinese suffered under many an emperor's and revolutionist's rule (how many died building the great wall and in the Cultural Revolution?)...

but I don't think "suffering under [Bush's] rule" is really the correct way of saying it.

Yes, yes, the whole war thing sucks and there are people suffering because of it, but whether they are suffering more because of the war or if they would have suffered more without it is a debateable question. Their standard of living surely hasn't decreased enough that they can be classified as "suffering" in the context of that phrase. To "suffer under someone's rule" demands at least a decade of suffering at the least, a generation on the average.

        *sigh*

        But if that's your viewpoint.

        *shrug*

I think Bush's crappy administration has cause pain and suffering in many corners of the globe ... but Bush doesn't rule jack, and the suffering isn't bad enough to dictate that usage of that phrase.

I'm the least you could do
If only life were as easy as you
I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
          I would still get screwed

Jamm, I agree with you, and I knew this choice of words was too strong for what I wanted to say. But I didn't find any better words on short notice and they get the point across (albeit too strongly), so I chose them.

"The people who are hurt by his actions (and/or lack of maybe, in some cases)."

            OK?

EDIT2: This also includes residents of the USA (for whatever domestic stuff he does wrong) as well as in other western countries that (and here it gets controversial, so let me say upfront that he surely isn't the only factor in this - far from it!) are now fearing terror partly because of his politics. Please don't misunderstand this last bit on purpose, but if you don't know what I mean, you're welcome to ask.

People have suffered more for the things Clinton did. Free trade with China? "Oh, that's going to open up our markets to over a billion people." Riiiight.. we didn't even get the chance to vote on this lunacy.. just got fed an intelligence-insulting line like that.
