For all the hockey fans out there:
Seems Moore has finally decided to sue Bertuzzi for the attack - what gets me though (I'm not going to get into the actual incident) is that Moore's parents are suing Bertuzzi as well:
"Moore's parents, Jack and Anna, who were watching on television when Bertuzzi blindsided Moore, are suing for $1.5 million "for negligent infliction of nervous shock and mental distress." "
I won't comment on the actual incident - but the parents suing? (to rip off Denis Leary) Well thats just great! That sets a precedent - does that mean I can sue Osama for the distress it caused me watching 9/11 on CNN? Or can I sue Fear Factor for making me puke? (and many more creative cases I'm sure you can think of on your own...)
And how can you put a price tag on distress like that?
If you were John Wayne - would you sue someone for punching you?
