Do you guys know the name of the song your heard? The songs I've listened to are TWAT and IRS and I really liked both of them.

Err, maybe actually famous in the orient, those folks are weird. She just sings really really badly. She's some housewife or something. People buy her albums. It's friggin' nuts. The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

The whole thing was just outright crap. Total and utter garbage. You couldn't tell it they were trying to be rock, pop, metal, christian rock, white-rock-rapper ... horrible. That album should have never gotten a label, but I guess the execs decided that it has GnR on the front so people will be dumb enough to buy it.

I've always been upset by Axel's degeneration into screeching. Appetite for Destruction and Lies both featured some decent singing - he has had real voice training in the past. I guess too much bourbon and the realization that audiences LIKED the "MWAAAAHHHHHH" bullcrap...
The album ought to be INTERESTING at least. Brian May did some guitar work, and Buckethead is a halfway decent guitarist - although his hair is just NASTY. I mean, c'mon - it's a REAL bucket of KFC on there! The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

Guns & Roses (I know, not real metal, more like hard rock/glam rock)

Iron Maiden
Deftones (Nu Metal)
Judas Priest
Tool (Some people call them Nu Metal, but I disagree)
...and a few others I can think of right now. I've heard 2 of the 3 leaked songs from the new GnR and it sounds awesome! It actually lives up to the hype IMHO. I suspect that I will like the Down album the best though. Iron Maiden's last album was really good.
Andybody left on MURC that actually like metal? Kruzin likes it, Rags likes it but he hardly posts anymore. Some people like Tool. That's about it I think. Oh, I know that Liz likes some of the newer bands like Glassjaw.
Metallica - "Out by February"
GnR - Who knows, when this album will come out. It has so much hype built into it, it can't possibly live up to it.
Down - the album has a possible title, so that is usually a good sign, hopefully in the next month or two.
Iron Maiden - The new album blows! God I hate it. The one before it, Dance of Death, is really good though.
Deftones - "soon"
Judas Priest - I know they are working on it. Not sure when though.
Tool - The album came out and it was awesome! Almost too complex in some songs.
The surprise metal album of 2007 is Machine Head's The Blackening. If you want a ****ing killer true speed/thrash/heavy metal album, get this one. I even think Gurm will like itLadies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

So I finally broke down and torrented the demo of "Chinese Democracy". The ONE song... "Better"... was... ok.
The rest of it was utter shit. Axl has been working on this for nearly a decade? WTF!?
Of course the band now claims that what people have heard is NOT the real album, that it's crap and that there's no way they'd release an album that sounds like that... mainly, I think, because nobody liked it!The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

I heard a couple of the GnR songs on the radio, and they all blew. Axl sounds like a cat that was run over by a car and is in it's death throws. I'll have to check out Machine Head. Hopefully the new Met album won't blow since they are taking their time on this one and have a real producer working with them. I need some good new Metallica.“Inside every sane person there’s a madman struggling to get outâ€

Axl always sounded to me like a Thomson's Gazelle realizing the cheetah is not chasing him just for the exercise. but your description is also acceptable.
Other then that, if you guys are after good Metal, I'd start with
the early work of "Carcass", "Cradle of filth", "At the gates" and the first two "The gathering" albums.Originally posted by Gurm.. some very fair skinned women just have a nasty brown crack no matter what...

Carcass? Are you serious? The medical students turned hardcore metal?
I mean, don't get me wrong - I found "Genital Grinder" to be amusing... but it's hardly GOOD MUSIC.
Wasn't one of the albums called "Reek of Putrefaction"? Or maybe that was a song.

Carcass makes good music? granted its not for everyone. but one thing is certain, they music they do make (or made before they became rich) is Metal.
something I can hardly day about Metallica (anything pass 1990) GNR (pop band. a boy band with distortion) or Deftones (What a joke).
Tool are fantastic ( though their latest 10,000 days suck). Judas priest had a good run in the late 70s and 80s. British Steel is one of my favorite albums ever.Originally posted by Gurm.. some very fair skinned women just have a nasty brown crack no matter what...

Maybe "metal" wasn't the best word to use in my post. I could have said "rock". Whatever, I don't care. I'm personally sick of hearing the 10 billion genres out there. I mean, somebody made up the genre, "mall core". LMFAO! How dumb is that. BTW, if you don't know what mall core is or where it came from, you are probably not up to speed about music in general, which is why I like simplicity and why I used the term "metal" to describe the bands in this post. You could call it furry donkey balls for all I care. If I like the music, I like the music.Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.
