You're forgetting cheese fries... At least that's what Eskimo Joes would have us believe...
Personally I think their version of them are some of the worst I've had.

Didn't know about the parking meter. Somehow I'm not surprised either.

I have never undersood this place.
If I was black, and broke down on the highway, this is the State I would want to be in.
If I was the Grand Dragon of the KKK and in the same situation. this is also the state I would want to be in.

      Very hard to describe place.

And the few winerys here-> OMFG they are bad...

If I produced something for free and had some idiot threaten to call the FBI on me for some crap that was not my fault, I would retain every right to respond in a rude and equally threatening manner. In fact, I would tell him to PLEASE DO call the FBI so I could sue his ass for doing so.

My point is only that if the first reply had been as well handled as some of the latter ones there would have likely not been any escalation on the idiots part. The tone in that first reply, I would bet, is what set him off further. The thought that ran through his mind was likely, "this f* is mocking me and my position, how dare he..."

Now, if a suitable reply had been given from the get go, then I would have no issue with how it was handled, even if subsequent replies told the idiot to f* off.

The problem is this extends far beyond this one incident. Free software developers are pushing further into the public eye and into corporate/enterprise usage. Sure it may be free (as in beer or as in speech), but if you're going to market yourself that way then you have to be prepared to handle yourself in manner that is expected of such. So our idiot in this case may not have been a direct customer (which, by the way, CentOS did not know initially), but he sure as hell was a customer by extention, and that's going to be the people who make decisions that affect which software stays or goes.

Never been to any of the wineries in state. Been meaning to, but I think I shall pass on that now

And I definitely get the whole black/KKK thing. Oklahoma seems to be stuck between being the bible belt state it's been and something else. Can't say I mind Stillwater or even Tulsa or OKC that much, but I'll be glad to be back (south)east as soon as possible.

OK, if anyone had any doubts about that guy...
                  Jerry Taylor Tuttle Oklahoma

                  In his own words:
“This is just a bunch of freaks out there that don’t have anything better to do,” he said. “When I came in to work Monday morning, I had about 500 e-mails, plus anonymous phone calls from all the geeks out there. [CentOS is] a free operating system that this guy gives away, which tells you how much time he’s got on his hands.”

Taylor said that the mistake could have happened to anyone, and he stands by what he did.

“I’m not about to follow any instructions on an unknown web page,” Taylor said. “That could put a virus on my system.”

Mayor Paxton said that the city manager knows a lot more about computers than he does, and he trusts Taylor

“The city manager was doing everything he could to protect the website,” Paxton said. “There was no profanity used, nothing vulgar used, just Jerry [Taylor] trying to find out what was going on. He was being aggressive and finding out what happened to the website.”

“I was just frustrated,” he said. “I’ve got a strange website coming up, and I don’t know who caused it.” Taylor said that he also did not regret threatening Hughes with FBI action, since he believes that was what prompted Hughes to start treating him seriously.

“After that, he called me Mr. Taylor,” he said, “And he got me the information I needed.”

I had the rather unpleasant experience of living in Oklahoma via the US Army. I was stationed in Fort Sill for about a year and half and was right outside Lawton. The thing that amazed me was that Lawton was the third largest "city" in the state, yet my home "town" was same size...not mention it took you an hour to get to the next biggest population center

I can't complain too much, my current company I work for is based of Lawton
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

I don't think anyone ever doubted that he was. His continued statements just make it all the more obvious that he's an ignorant, pompous, ass hat

Somehow related...and he has a point, I think, even if it's generalisation.
