Seen a couple of beauties tonight.

    First one.

I came home and my pc kept locking up. A few minutes later I saw a bright flash from where my graphics card was installed. Is my card broken?

Five days later no answer so the poster says "I asked a simple question why isn't anyone answering".

Being kind I replied take a screw driver and have a look yourself. If you read your own post 9/10 you've answered your own question.

Another one. I've installed the latest ATI drivers on my ATI XT1900XT fear now runs like a dog which drivers should I use.

My reply The ones that you didn't have any problems with.

    Doh.

Dumb retail store dealing with my friend:

Friend's mobo dies - NB burnt out, made horrible burning smell, would not POST etc.
Friend decides to take mobo back to retailer where he bought it so they could RMA it for him. Gives it to them and says, "need RMA - northbridge fried."
Retailer calls back next day, says, "come back to store, your mobo works."
Friend, confused, goes back to store, "they test it again in front of him, it is quite obviously dead, the NB, just like friend said."
Retailer says, "oh, your mobo is dead, that'll be $30 for diagnostic, would you like us to RMA it?"
Friend says "wtf", talks to management, doesn't have to pay the $, and RMAs it himself.

it generally is so much easer it RMA yourself. It's rather annoying really.

Yeah, that is what I suggested at first, as that is what I always do, he figured it would be easier to get the retailer to do it. I guess he learned the hard way.
