    Director/writer: Andrew Kevin Walker (Sleepy Hollow, Se7en)
    Producers: Scott Stuber, Rick Yorn, Mary Parent and Benicio Del Toro

    Cast:

    Larry Talbot/Wolf Man: Benicio Del Toro (Sin City, 21 Grams, Traffic)

    The new film will be set in Victorian England, similar to the 1941 version starring Lon Chaney Jr. Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and becomes a 'lycanthrope'.

    Both Walker and Del Toro collect 'Wolf Man' movie memorabilia. Walker is targeting a January 2007 shoot.

    Benicio usually plays the slightly smaller roles to more well known actors, but in this role I think he can more than hold his own (not that he usually doesn't). Do wonder how someone of Spanish decent has his ancestral home in England

      Can't be as bad as Omar Sharif playing a Russian (Doctor Zhivago)or a German (The Last Valley).. or Ghengis Khan (Ghengis Khan), for that matter. They also got John Wayne to play Ghengis Khan (The Conqueror).. even worse!

            Yes, yes. Cinema history is rife with actors playing characters that had extremely disparate ethnical backgrounds from their own. I mean the only thing worse is an Irishman playing a British secret agent

            And yes, Benicio might give the makeup artists a slight reprieve.
