What percentage is 458 estimated deaths related to the number of deaths caused by OTC road vehicles, OTC guns or inevitable pollution-related deaths? Negligible. Let's keep a sense of proportion.

The point, I guess, would have to be what the alternatives are. Some speculation:
1. Make all painkillers prescribed only -> lots of pain and cost.
2. Make this one prescribed only -> in a few years we'll be bitching about the issues with NSAIDs (kidney, stomach, heart?)
3. Improve marketing, information and education so that it is not taken as lightly and misuse occurs less frequent -> Seems right to me.
