  • Traveling tips for when going to Berlin.

Hi I am going for a medical convention in Berlin in 2 weeks time, and wondered if anyone had any tips for what me and my missus could do in Berlin on our sparetime.

We have already planned to go to the pergamon museum, the jewish museum, The Brandenburg Tor, and the Tech. Museum

Looking forward for some great tips.

Definitely go see the Reichstag if they have a tour. What they've done with it is gorgeous.

And, even if for the sole purpose of generating traffic/annoying PL government, visit the exhibition recently opened by Erika Steinbach (sorry, don't have it's original name at hand, but something around "forced ways; escapes and expulsions in XXth century Europe)

You have quite a lot planned already. How long will you be staying? What are your interests?

What Nowhere means is the exhibition "Erzwungene Wege" in the Kronprinzenpalais, Unter den Linden 3.

I do live in Berlin, and as such, have absolutely no idea where you would want to go as a tourist, but I might at least try

Oh, one tip I can give is: Take a ride on the Bus lines 100 & 200. They're tourist lines and go by many interesting places, for the standard public transportation fee (2.10 EUR). Try and get one of the four front row seats on the upper deck. Be advised that in Germany, people don't line up when waiting for buses: We just pile up and pour into the bus, so it'll be kind of a race to get to those best seats. And buy tickets beforehand, otherwise people will just pass you as you're buying tickets from the driver. I think a 24 hour or a week ticket would be a good thing anyway.
