      Those 'red staters' have been giving him high marks at the recent State Conventions, to the point of him winning some straw polls.

      VP might well be where he ends up, but never say never. People didn't think a Catholic could win in 1960 either....

      Guiliani/Romney would be a powerful ticket nationally. Romney on the ticket would make for an uphill fight on the part of the Dems here in Michigan.

      So would John McCain and about anyone, if he could get through the primaries.

      Those who know McCain well (beyond college & TV speeches) don't like his propensity for tantrums (he has a wicked temper), which increases the possibility of a meltdown on his part.
