I agree there are just as many black, hispanic, asian, or whatever else, racists in the world. As most of you know, I am in an inter-racial marriage, so I have a pretty good perspective on the situation. Admittedly, there's pretty wide acceptance of mixed couples in Canada, and most of the negative reactions come from the elder generations on the Chinese side. I find that just as offensive as racism from caucasians against any other race. People just need to grow up and accept the fact that the world has changed. If you don't like it, go live in the woods and raise your bigoted family away from the rest of us. You won't be missed.

Any racism coming from someone of any race is unacceptable, so I fully support Sasq's decision.

Elder generations on most sides. Them, some youth poisoned by their elders and the radical political fringes of the extreme left and right.

The guy KvH linked to is a far, far left radical. Lots of 'em in the elder black "leadership" in these parts. They are "black supremacists" not different at all from the KKK/NAZI/skinheads, just of opposite polarity and just as repugnant.

      Agreed

However; let's not mistake harsh criticism for "racism". That mistake is made far too often. Tough love sometimes hurts.

I can only imagine what he thought of that pic I posted of my daughter and her high school boyfriend

I wouldn't even call that "left" - I would just call it stupid.

I too support the decision - although this particular case I think to be an odd straw to break the camels back.

I tend to ignore complete threads once the subject gets overly bigoted or racist, so I'm sure I'm not aware of the extent of his transgressions.
Dan is a pretty level headed guy, I would have to agree with any decision he makes

harsh criticism is fine. It's blind bigoted accusations that irritate me.
yes this was an old straw, he had been warned, and he continued, pretty much end of story.

We are all racist to some extent or another, its part of the in group/out group thing, the difference really is, if we are able to see beyond that, or more specifically if we are able to look into the mirror and work out why we feel that way, as opposed to blindly following down that path.

Totally agree. Criticism is not only okay, but necessary. For example, there are most certainly improvements to be made to the immigration policies of most western countries. Blaming the problems on the immigrants (as a whole) takes it over the line.

I'll miss him. really. It's good to have that certain person to get mad about "nearby" and yet have the comfort to know he's simply not of this world. I donnow, he, IMO, did define a part of murc.

Anyway. So long KvH. May you meet nothing but love, friends and hapiness and, well, loads of fine black muslim woman eager to rummage around with ya.

So KvH is gone. MURC won't be the same without him. So long KvH, I'll miss you.

I'm not sure what there is to miss. Unless you like your Texans arrogant and dipped in hatred. Sorry, but there's been few posts of his as of late that haven't been filled with loathing of one ethnic group or another, and if that wasn't the case then he was berating other members for their choices in electronic equipment or speakers.

A year ago, I might have agreed that at least he was good to have around, but MURC is better off without someone who wallows in his prejudices.
