    This has been known about for a while. Neighbouring African tribes, one that ritually circumsizes and one that doesn't, show enormous differences in infection rates. Its not new.

    Why on earth are people arguing? Its a fact that it cuts infection rates. Period.

    I never missed mine either.

      That shows that it is a correlation, not a fact. I do not doubt it helps - but 50%? that I doubt, and not because of the medical theory, but because the data is not sufficient enough to satisfy me when there are so many (and possibly unmeasurable) factors.

          I agree, especially since we're talking African men

              I like it a lot!

              I came close to a touchy subject without even realizing it, but the reason I asked was not because of something like this:

              But because knowing the African definition of beauty, I was wondering if this was a safer alternative to something (relatively speaking), like this:

              and since:

                        Regardless, I’m not going to have a circumcision and that’s final!

                          I was pointing out a systematic error, in every case there would be a common trend, which makes the whole sample flawed.

                          They need to do more lab studies. And take a random sample of people and try to give them HIV!

                              I've been waiting for someone to notice that guys name

                              He's actually the WHO's HIV/AIDS director;

                              With his CV and reputation if he says something about HIV/AIDS, I'd listen.
