  • Download Red Dwarf and Dr. Who legally!

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

As it turns out BBC and Azureus's Zudeo service, the BitTorrent company that started a HD YouTube competitor that also allows you to download the content, is going to make HUNDREDS of various shows available on Zudeo. Shows that have been announced so far are:

Dr. Who (don't know which series, maybe all but the newest?)
    Red Dwarf
    The League of Gentlemen
    Little Britain
    Fawlty Towers

The content will be available for free, but will be locked under DRM so you can't trade them on other p2p networks. The episodes are expected to be high quality, and some maybe even high definition.

    I can't wait

I haven't heard that it would be free - in fact, I've heard the opposite. And that article says "No pricing structure for the BBC content on Zudeo has been revealed."

IIRC, it should be free for us in the UK (technically us licencepayers own it anyway or somesuch - there was some court case that was the origin of this push by the BBC). But as that same licencepayer, I'd be pretty annoyed if you got it for free in the country of Foreign too

Yeah, it should be free for you guys, but right now it looks like it won't be available at all to you. Good luck fighting that.
