  • Who woke up with a headache...

    Happy New Year folks,
Had a great time with some friends and my family. My kids made it to 1:00am, but they pretty well fell sound asleep after their heads hit their pillow.
Also it's was nice to sleep in till 9:30 this morning. Yahoo
Now I'm, getting ready to visit my parents for a nice lunch/dinner.
And no hangover, I was a good little boy last night, as I was driving. But it didn't stop me from having a couple of vespas. ( my friend downloaded the 007 cocktail, not bad but not my thing)
    Enjoy the day everyone.

Surprisingly good here, considering I definitely don't deserve a clear head, and on only 5 hours sleep too!

Went to bed at 5am, woke up at 10 am. Feel fine, but I rarely get hangovers, especially after dancing most of the booze off.

We're fine; a little bubbly, some shrimp cocktails and port wine cheese w/crackers in the bedroom is all we need

OTOH WW-III was going on down the street @3 AM.

One gal down the street gets mean drunk & starts pounding on every door, yelling about everything and nothing.

Eventually another guy/gal come home (sober! non-drinkers) while the drunk is going after a guy who had come out to complain.

He roundhouse kicks at the drunk, misses and fractures the orbit (eye socket) of the gal who had just come home

And a good time was had by all

woke up fine at about 6am, with a noticably absent hangover, not quite sure where it went, I just know it should have been there.

It's two days after and I think I've finally recovered.

Managed to get out without the kids, crashed on Trina's sister's couches around 5 am, then forced ourselves to get up around 8 to go relieve the grandparents' of our three (they also had our niece). All-in-all, it was a pretty good night, though I do believe I had a bit much to drink...

Woke up without a hangover, but boy did I have a headache...

Must remember to switch EVERYTHING electronic OFF next year otherwise I'm gonna end up chatting with everyone (and everyone they know) and having their fortune's read... *sigh*

But, great year so far (albeit only a few days in. )

No hang over here. Got up between 8-11am. I had to get all 4 of my festival hats in Guild Wars that day. Got the first 2 at 11am, 1 at 5pm and last one at 8pm.

I'm not going to go into details, but we have a MURCER who has a less than happy entry into the new year. This person was not physically harmed, but suffered a significant loss. I realize it's a weird request given the lack of knowing who, but I'd just like to ask everyone to keep this friend to us all in their thoughts.

I'm sorry for whoever that is.
Sadly its a 'me too' here. We lost an old family friend to stomach cancer on Saturday. The end came much more quickly than expected and we didn't have a chance to say goodbye.

I'm sorry for all of the one departing close to a major Holiday season, the Holidays will never be the same for the one left behind.

Anyway, it was my uncle's wife's brother’s daughter, not a blood family but still a family.
Last time I saw her was 2 months ago at a party … .

Now this family hates Christmas like no one other……. .
Just read the family story yourself.

Fatal crash is family's 3rd holiday tragedy

If any good came from a car wreck that nearly killed her older sister seven years ago, it was that Monica Masny usually was a vigilant driver.

"If you drove with her, you'd say, `Hurry up, you're driving like an old lady,'" said her father, Joseph. "She was that careful."

That's why family was shocked to learn early Sunday that Masny, 20, of the 13500 block of Kickapoo Trail in Homer Glen had lost control of her 2002 Jeep about 3 a.m. and crashed into a stand of trees on Archer Avenue, near Illinois Highway 83, in Lemont. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Masny was heading west when she crossed into the eastbound lane, swerved back into her own lane, then crossed the shoulder, said Penny Mateck, Cook County sheriff's police spokeswoman. She was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Family that was gathered for a traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinner Sunday said Masny had been heading home from a party. They don't know if she had been drinking and were told by sheriff's police that she wasn't wearing her seatbelt, which would have been out of character, they said. They think black ice might have been a factor in the crash.

"She was coming home and she didn't make it," her father said. "It's as simple as that. I don't blame anybody."

Masny, who lived with her immigrant parents, was studying to be a nurse at St. Xavier University. She worked 30 hours a week as a bank teller.

In December 1999, her sister, Sandy Kruczak, 29, was unconscious for two weeks after flipping her car while exiting a highway. She broke her arm in seven places and spent two years in rehabilitation and therapy. In December 1984, before Masny was born, her 11-year-old brother died after an explosion that resulted from playing with gasoline and a candle.

The Masny family said they have long associated the holiday season with tragedy.
"We hate Christmas," Joseph Masny said. "We do it anyway."

They still planned to gather around the dining room table Sunday for a meal of fish, pierogi, cabbage and mushroom soup that Masny's mother, Helen, had begun preparing days ago.

"Maybe she'll come sit with us," Helen Masny said tearfully, clutching a framed photo of her daughter.

P.S. Her brother was plying with a flying model airplane, propelled by a real gasoline engine. He did accidentally soak himself while fueling the plane in a garage, then he caught on fire but not from a candle….. .

RIP all of those who died this Christmas Season.
