If you're that apprehensive of taking Posh we'll do you a favor and take her off your hands. But Paris plays no role in the transaction.

We all did expect everything, but not this…..

Beckham wants to be an actor, says Giorgio Armani

Hollywood glamour more than the pull of U.S. soccer may explain why David Beckham has decided to move to Los Angeles Galaxy, according to Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani.

"If (reports that the deal is worth $250 million) are true, then he has done the right thing. And I think he wants to be an actor, not a footballer," Armani, who has designed the England soccer team's outfits in recent years, told reporters on the sidelines of Milan's fashion shows.

"He is a very handsome man and his football career could be nearing an end," he said. "Also look at his wife...I saw her at Tom Cruise's wedding and she is a very bubbly lady," he said.

Beckham announced last week he had not renewed his contract with Real Madrid and would move to Galaxy.

He told reporters on Friday he had sought the advice of his actor friend Tom Cruise before agreeing the big-money move.

          $250 M ???!!
explains why most of us can't afford to go see a Major league sporting event
The tickets, the food, the parking, a few beers and you just spent a couple days wages to see a 2 hr game with your family.
          I'll have none of it.

Why would you want to see a major league sporting event? I'd much rather attend a collegiate sporting event where the players still might care about the sport.

That and I refuse to support the insane amounts of money some or most pro athletes make. The fact that a hack of a player like Beckham can pull in a $250 million dollar deal is proof enough.

That has nothing to do with the price of tickets; witness that University of Michigan 50 yard line football tickets cost $499 each

And programs like Michigan's are a testament that college football (Div I) has become too "pro."

                  Never said it did

I live in one of those states where College football is almost everything, and I just so happen to live in a college town where it is everything. Ticket prices tend to reflect that.
