Chinese Jet Engine maintenance

Totally bogus story.
None of that adds up.
The damage was in a flight and the straps were added by a maintenance crew AFTER landing and then the engine removed.
It never flew with those things on an engine.
And I've flown on Chinese airlines.
They are very professional.Chuck

Not that this has any specific relevance to this incident, but there's been plenty of cases where planes on transatlantic routes loose an engine during take-off and continue their flight, ending with an emergency landing somewhere due to lack of fuel.Originally posted by cjolley View PostTotally bogus story.

Looks like they forgot to thaw the chickens before doing the bird impact test!
I agree with Chuck. I've flown on many Chinese internal and international flights and have never seen any instances of visibly bad maintenance or doubtful practices. Most of their planes are reasonably modern Airbus/Boeings. Now, I could believe this with some carriers from other countries I've flown with!Brian (the devil incarnate)
