Anyone see it? The program was....unique.
The ENTIRE program was devoted to the three stooges buying sub $1000 cars and driving across Florida (the idea being it is cheaper than renting), and indulging in such hillarious japes as camping out for the night with only road-kill for supper.
A major low came when the producers had them write inflamatory slogans on the side of each others vehicles ( "Hillary for Pres", "Man Love Rulez" etc), in an attempt to get each other killed - something they very nearly achieved when stopping at a hick gas station. They and the production crew left under a shower of rocks...
And then at the end when they got to New Orleans and saw the devastation, they decided their original plan of seeing who could get the most money for the vehicles would be in bad taste so they would give them away to needy families with the aid of a local mission. That was almost disgusting. The best you could say about the cars is that they *might* get you a little way from A towards B, if you can start it and if you aren't arrested for driving an illegal car.
I normally love the show, deciding to see it as an hour of light entertainment rather than a serious motoring show, but that episode is one they should be ashamed of.
Not surprsingly, the Exec Producer feels somewhat differently: http://www.topgear.com/blogs/planett...ar-us-special/
