The Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality hearing scheduled for Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in room 2123 Rayburn House Office Building has been postponed due to inclement weather. The hearing is entitled “Climate Change: Are Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Human Activities Contributing to a Warming of the Planet?”

The hearing will be rescheduled to a date and time to be announced later.

It's well past us now, but we got ~1 foot of snow blown into deep drifts by a 30+ mph wind. Over 500 school districts closed just in SE Michigan

Points west and south of us are a$$ deep.

Obviously the east coast is getting hammered.

For the first time in Canadian history they closed schools cause it STARTED snowing!!! When I was in school there had to be at least 3 feet of snow in 24h before they even started considering closing the schools and yet, we've only got about 1/3 of a foot of snow.

We got about 6" here. Schools were still open (much to my daughter's dismay )

No...the last few years has been a return of the patterns of the 70's in the midwest & east, right in accordance with the ~40ish year North American cycle of the 20th century.

30's to mid 40's: hot & dry; 20,000 plus die in heat waves.

mid 40's to late 50's: cooling & stormy; >snow; >hurricanes

late 50's to mid 70's: cold; several major blizzards & -70F wind-chills in midwest

80's to ~2000+: warming, heat waves, heat deaths

last few years: cooling & stormy; >snow; >hurricanes

This is why many pragmatic US climatologists predict a cold cycle that gets nasty around 2012.

Of course the circular logic used by the GW's allows them to lay claim to whatever climate pattern emerges
