ReMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Wondered where you disappeared to. Will fire up H tomorrow.
2-4pm sound good?
btw you missed gbm coming to the states. He was in NY for almost two weeks visiting sister Teresa, just got home on the 10th (11th seeing how long the return flight/layover in London was)"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." -- Dr. Seuss

Holy Mo ...
I feel so stoopid for having left this wonderful place such a long time ago.
/me bangs forehead onto keyboard

What was I thinking ?
However, I'm back for good and it surely feels great to get this warm reception from all of you !!!
On another note, I just started another incremental upgrade to my aging hardware
.
I don't recall, if I told you that I got myself an XFX 7800GS on AGP for my olden A7V333 with a Thorton 2400+ @ 2700+, but I now just purchased a used ASrock 939 Dual Sata2 mobo for giving the 7800 another boost.
In detail, I'm now bidding on some used AM2 CPUs on eBay, because I found out that the and AM2 plus this nice CPU upgrade board (AM2CPU) is indeed cheaper than a used 939 CPU alone !!!
In the long run, it'll be capable of taking an AM2+ quad core, so there'll be even more juice to feed the monster aaaand the mobo features an PCIe 16x slot as well, which not only could host any upcoming DX10 card, but ASrock also offers yet another upgrade card that offers 2x PCIe 8x for running two gfx cards in SLI or even more attractive would be any form of NV 8xxx chip based dual chip card.
ATI's R600 surely looks tempting by all those leaked specs, but since I'm still enjoying my 3D shutter glasses, there's no way around NVidia until ATI/AMD decided to write some stereo 3D drivers on their own, which should be feasible, since they offer such drivers for some of their FireGL cards.
I'm also trying to get two 1GB stick of DDR2 RAM for an affordable price, so that each CPU will have a Gig for now and whenever I go quad core, I'll add two more gigs.
IMHO, ASrock should get an award for the most innovative, flexible and upgradeable product line ever !!!
I was also considering a 775 based AGP/PCIe dual board from ASrock, but I still don't like Intel all that much and hence I'll stick with AMD for now.
Dunno how long it'll take to get all components together, but I'll keep you updated on the progress ...
...
Mike, I'm on Hamachi on a regular basis, so you'll see me blinking anyways.
Cheeeeeeesio !

Maggs gave up on H after a couple months because I never saw you online after we chatted last fall :\"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." -- Dr. Seuss

Hey Mike,
that must have been extremly bad timing back then ... :/
I was very often on Hamachi, but never saw any of you guys joining in. Anyways, I made my way home, I guess ...
Dave ... I surely remember that "blow up" and how well it was apreciated by the band !
Thanx a lot for keeping those links, I'll bookmark 'em now as well.

Hey all who said hi
Just seeing Maggs posting what he's doing with his PC got me thinking - I just use my PC now for boring stuff - don't bother with games (That's what the Wii is for!) any more. I see the PC as a tool now really. Is it just me or are PCs much more boring these days? I'm so out of step with what's going on! After all I still use my trusty old Parhelia
Maggs - how's the family and house? You still living in the middle of nowhere? God it seems like sooo long ago I visited for CeBit whenever that was!
Ahh the glory days:
How's Haigy and Hellmut? They still around?
Cheers,
Steve

I still love fiddling with my hardware (no pun intended)
so a PC is still my first choice gaming hardware for various reason (general purpose usage, flexibility, upgradeability, features etc.)
and yes, I still live in the middle of nowhere and there's nothing that could change this, it's just too nice to live out there and my two offsprings enjoy the nature to a great extend (climbing trees, strolling the forrest, squating the tree house etc.) ...
Hellmood is still alive, but doesn't work in the same company anymore, hence we don't see us all that often, but instead we hook up via VPN for chatting and gaming quite often
I haven't spoken to Haig for quite a while now, but last thing I know is that he's pretty happy at his new job outside the big M ...

R.
I'm still using those glasses and added another pair, which are very cheap wired shutter glasses from Razor3D (only 18-20 Euros) and the best thing about that is that I can cascade them, so that any guest could watch and enjoy the real 3D simultaneously ...
