False memory implantation by psychiatrists can happen at ANY age, but anyone up to and including teenagers is susceptible. If hypnosis is used, it can be done to ANYONE at ANY age with a high occurrence rate. Some of the landmark cases of "remembered" abuse in this country have later been shown to be false memories.
The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

Yup. A friend of mine is a psychologist who specializes in false-memory research. And just through casual conversation she says she has at least a 1/3 chance of implanting false memories in a mature adult. Also, as part of an informal, approved experiment, she's implanted a false memory of a clown with a friend's little daughter, and over the years that girl has added all *sorts* of details to that "day."

Here's a wrench, though: What about simulated child porn? Nobody's harmed in the making of it, since they were never real. The stuff would turn my stomach, but I can't see a reason to make it illegal. What about pictures of young-looking adult women? What if you thought you were looking at adult porn, and the "woman" turned out to be 16 or 17?

Happened with Traci Lords, and I don't think any consumers were prosecuted.

Pictures of young-looking adult women are all over the net. I don't really understand what men like in that, but tastes are very different, so even though I don't like what those pics are implying, I don't think they should be illegal.

Simulated child porn? According to my standards, I should be against making it illegal. But if anybody would have a good argument to make it illegal, I would be very glad. I can't find one, but I'd welcome one.

Problem is that again, you'd be punishing people for what they think instead of what they do. The entire argument is very "1984".
