"Greetings to your and your family" is enough to make it fishy.
Most http://www.419eater.com/ e-mail start this way and apparently, those scammers do have people working for them in Europe, earning thousands of dollars every month.

This on just one of many, many types of scams...
Another step this guy may take is abuse/threats, they often get pushy and sometimes even threaten their victims with fbi, voilence, etc...

My advice is watch everything, save all corresspondance (e-mails, msgs etc) so you have a record just in case you need to take it to the cops or just to show e-bay if he tries to give you negative feedback, they watch for these scams too but the need to be told.

Don't get involved in conversation with the scammer, best practice is to ignore them and they'll go away, the more you challenge them the more aggressive they get.

I'll pass this information on to someone I know who is part of a large group of persons actively involved in wasting these scammers time and they'll enjoy giving this scammer grief (if they're not already) and btw, don't try this yourself - dealing with scammers in this way is very dangerous, best left to those who know what to do...

BTW, ebay got back to me, thanking me for informing them, waiving my fees, and if I understood them, telling me the buyer's account has been closed.
